Research
There is a focus on three research themes at Sheffield Hallam University:
The Creativity and Culture Research Institute, within the College of Social Sciences and Arts, is home to both Cultural Studies Theorists (Anja Louis, Ana Marie Sánchez-Arce, Amy Wigelsworth) and Practice-based Researchers (Esther Johnson), whose dialogue and collaboration aims to further scholarship in this field. Anja Louis and Amy Wigelsworth are based in the Sheffield Business School, part of the College of Business, Technology and Engineering, which draws in cultural specialists from a diverse community. Anja is joint REF-coordinator for U0A34 (Communication, Cultural and Media Studies, Library and Information Management) in the Centre for Culture, Media and Society. The language expertise of the team (Spanish, French, German, Italian, Catalan) adds an important transnational dimension to the research, in that meaningful comparisons can be drawn between the creative outputs and social behaviours of different linguistic / geographic cultures. |
